4. Front Page Analysis

This is a front cover of an NME magazine.

In this cover, I noticed that this magazine is aimed at young adults because of the use of colloquial language.
The masthead of this magazine is NME. It is bold, big, and plain.
The title reflects to the type of music it promotes, which is rock. The colour of the masthead is kept the same (red) so that people can recognise the magazine easily, but also because to reflect on what the main image is wearing.
The barcode is placed on the bottom left of the magazine which follows the codes and conventions. However, the date and price is on the top third of the magazine. Maybe because so that it can be easily seen by the reader. This magazine was released on 11 September 2010 and the price is £2.30 which I think that the price is fairly cheap.
the main image for this magazine uses long mid shot of the 2 members of the Oasis band.
I think that this magazine is focusing more on the left artist as the red hoodie that he is wearing stands out so much on the page.
This magazine challenged the codes and conventions as they attempted to place the cover lines in the middle instead of the side. This could reflect to the selling line of this magazine, by saying 'messiest' as the text are kind of scattered all over the page.
The pug suggest a story about the two models on the front cover which could relate on how these models are positioned.
